Is InstaSculpting Like Cool Sculpting?

Is InstaSculpting like Cool Sculpting? While both offer non-invasive slimming and fat reduction there are not the same procedure. InstaSculpting is not like Cool Sculpting because it uses painless sound waves to break up stubborn fat. Cool Sculpting uses cold to freeze fat cells so they break apart, but it can be painful and it leaves a red mark or even bruising. InstaSculpting leaves no marks on your body; in fact, you can wear a swimsuit right after your slimming session with InstaSculpting. Is Cool Sculpting Safe? Some medical practictioners consider Cool Sculpting safe; however, some have stopped offering the service due to PAH, or paradoxical adipose hyperplasia. This occurs in very few patients, but it actually freezes the fat and it never goes away. Some news outlets call this the “butter stick” effect because the frozen fat stays in the shape of the Cool Sculpting wand. The only solution to remove the butter stick is to have surgery under total anesthesia. This could mean an entire summer of not being able to wear a swimsuit at all, and the risks associated with surgery. How Safe Is InstaSculpting? InstaSculpting is completely safe with zero downtime or redness. Many fitness models do instaSculpting before their competitions, eliminating that final stubborn layer of fat gone for good. The reason that it is totally safe is that it uses sound waves that our bodies naturally encounter everyday. InstaSculpting focuses these sound waves only onto your fat. The ultrasonic sound causes the fat cells to vibrate and form small bubbles that destroy the fat cell wall, allowing the fatty contents to be eliminated from your body. What Does It Feel Like? InstaSculpting doesn’t “feel” like much, but you will hear the sound of the procedure working in your ears. It sounds like a light humming because the sound waves are bouncing off of your fatty tissues. Some of the wands of the machine warm up or can cause a slight muscle vibration, but no sensations are painful or unpleasant. Most of the customers who use instaSculpting watch TV while it is being performed. We invite you to come and try InstaSculpting for yourself! Our experienced team of professionals will help you achieve your body goals painlessly and without any marks or downtime. With our state-of-the-art technology, you can say goodbye to stubborn fat and hello to a confident new you. Don’t hesitate, schedule your appointment now and start your journey towards a more sculpted and confident version of yourself.

Does Cryotherapy Help Fat Burn?

FAT BURN refers to a metabolic state where your body is burning fat instead of its preferred fuel of carbohydrates. Carbohydrates exist in two forms when you are eating normally – “free” or accessible carbs, and stored carbs called glycogen. When your body needs fuel, it will burn the free carbs first (like when you drink a glass of OJ full of carbs). When all the free carbs are gone, your body will burn the stored carbs (glycogen). In humans, glycogen is made and stored primarily in the cells of the liver and the muscles, and contains carbs and water stored together. Once the glycogen and stored water is gone, your body turns to fat. In the first week of this program, you will lose a lot of weight. Most of that will be as a result of using up the glycogen, because every gram of stored carbs ALSO stores 3 grams of water. If the glycogen is used, the water is released. Result? Large weight loss. This is ALSO why, if you have a high carb meal at some point, your weight goes UP UP UP. Every extra gram of carbs will be stored with an extra 3 grams of water. This is why if you eat 1 lb of chocolate, your weight goes up by 4 lbs (at least! 1 lb carbs + 3 lbs water). On a side note, when your body burns fat as fuel, ketone bodies are produced and are released in your urine, sweat, and saliva – hence the bad breath and BO that some people on the 5&1 report. The more fat that is burned, the higher the concentration of ketone bodies, and the greater the odor. The 5&1 program produces a MILD “fat-burning” state. For diets that invoke a SERIOUS ketosis, like the Atkins diet, your carbs are limited to less than 20g per day. On the 5&1, we are eating between 80 and 100g of carbs daily – JUST enough to keep your brain functioning well, and JUST enough to put you into mild “fat-burning” state. You will KNOW that you are in “fat-burning” IF you have been 100% ON PLAN for 3 days. This is because your body only stores enough glycogen to provide fuel for 3 days. Once the glycogen is GONE, after 3 days, you will be in “fat-burning” state. Bottom line? To be in fat-burning, you need to be 100% on plan. If you aren’t, you will still lose weight (because you’ll be eating fewer calories every day than normal) – but it will be much more slowly, and you will be hungry. The more CARBS you eat over 100g, the less BODY FAT your body will metabolize as fuel. Happily, once you’re in fat-burning, your hunger dissipates, and you get the best of both worlds: faster weight loss AND reduced hunger. Ultimately, the choice is yours. How fast do you want to get to your target weight? How willing are you to stay on plan in order to support that goal of a healthy BMI?- This is from our amazing Nutrition support Dept

What Is Salt Room Therapy?

Halotherapy, also known as salt room therapy, is used to support respiratory health and promote overall wellness.  Salt rooms became a discussion in the medical community in 1843 after physician Feliks Boczkowski noticed that salt mine workers did not have the same lung disorders that coal miners did.  During WWII German doctor Karl Spannagel noticed his patients were more healthy after weeks of hiding out from bombing raids in salt mines.  So why do people seem healthier after spending time in a salt room? Salt Rooms and Your Lungs The American Lung Association’s senior scientific advisor Dr. Norman Edelman believes the salt environment provides an allergen-free environment, allowing the lungs to relax.  This can benefit those with allergies or anyone suffering from COPD or an obstructive lung disease.  Furthermore, salt particles in the air can make it easier to clear the lungs from any mucus or sputum.  Dr. Edelman explained “When fine salt particles are inhaled, they will fall on the airway linings and draw water into the airway, thinning the mucus and making it easier to raise, thus making people feel better.”(1)  What Does It Feel Like? Salt rooms are relaxing and calm.  Most salt rooms illuminate the salt bricks while playing soothing music.  The goal of sitting in a salt room is to relax and breathe deeply.  You won’t feel anything on your skin or in the air, and you may not even taste any salt in the air, but it is there.  Many people use the time in the salt room to meditate, sleep, or read a book.  The benefits of salt room therapy that you can feel after the therapy is over are: Improved breathing and less allergies Less flare ups from psoriasis or eczema Improved mood and less stress “Happy Hormone” boost (ion exchange) Improved wellness Finally, the relaxation occurring in a salt room emphasizes the beneficial effects of halotherapy.   Most people in Orange County are very busy throughout their day.  As a result, scheduling time to relax and benefit from the salt room prioritizes mental and emotional health. https://www.lung.org/blog/promising-placebo-salt-halotherapy

Body Contouring? Will it help?

Body contouring is different from instaSculpting, but will it help? Body contouring is a method to build muscle and burn fat in areas that you want to improve. While instaSculpting uses cavitation and radio frequency to burst fat cells and tighten skin, contouring is a different method. Body and muscle contouring uses electromagnetic stimulation (EMS) to cause your muscles to contract rapidly. Your muscles naturally contract while you are working out and burning calories. EMS causes the same types of contractions on an intense scale, forcing your body to produce more contractions than you can with normal exercise. For example, in 30 minutes you can experience 20,000 contractions in a muscle. Some physiologists have compared that to doing 1,000 sit ups. Does it Burn Fat? Unlike cavitation EMS does not specifically break down fat. Instead, it causes your body to perform work which will burn calories while building muscle. Other methods like Cool Sculpting or ultransonic cavitation use temperature and sound to break open fat cells. EMS uses your body’s natural ability to consume fat for energy while building muscle at the same time. Does it Hurt? No, electromagnetic stimulation body contouring does not hurt. It feels more like a pulsing in your muscles that cause them to contract or squeeze. During your first session it will seem odd, but not unpleasant at all. Most clients find that they become accustomed to the sensation and increase the intensity for better results. Other methods of weight reduction, such as Cool Sculpting, are painful and can leave marks on the body. Some clients of Cool Sculpting have actually had their fat solidified in “butter stick syndrome” and had to have liposuction to remove it. This is known as paradoxical adipose hyperplastia, or PAH. This occurs when the fat cells are not destroyed by the cold but are frozen solid like a gel that does not go away. Does it Leave Marks? No, EMS does not leave marks on the skin and you can wear a swimsuit on the same day. Many fitness models use Body and Muscle Contour before their competitions to help them get their abs or buttocks completely tight. Some other forms of body treatments can leave temporary marks or redness, so make sure to check with your provider before you undergo any treatments.

InstaSculpting: The New Era of Body Sculpting

Have you ever wanted toned abs and arms but simply never have the time to workout everyday? Dieting is also a pain to maintain and nearly impossible to stay dedicated to. Maybe you do have a healthy lifestyle, but can’t seem to banish those stubborn fat cells around your tummy. Well, there’s a solution: InstaSculpting.  InstaSculpting, also known as ultrasonic cavitation, is the newest innovation for body sculpting and stubborn fat reduction. Using this minimally invasive method results in a toned and tighter appearance of any targeted area. After only a few sessions of ultrasonic cavitation that persistent pouch will be miraculously toned making you a happier and more confident person.  The Science Behind Ultrasonic Cavitation Ultrasonic cavitation uses sound waves to deflate large fat cells and release its fatty components to be excreted by the body’s lymphatic system. Just like a grape turning into a raisin, the fat cells shrink resulting in a thinner composition. Stubborn fat areas ranging from the midsection to arms can be targeted for fat cell reduction.  Ultrasonic is defined by anything that involves sound waves with a frequency above the upper limit of human hearing. However, during your session you and only you will be able to hear the frequency in your inner-ear. As the sound waves penetrate the skin your ears will hear a faint ringing for the duration of your session ensuring that it’s doing its job. The other half of this new fat busting method is cavitation.  Cavitation involves the formation of bubbles in a liquid along with the formation of an empty space within a body. During a cavitation session low-frequency sound waves create microbubbles around the fat cells after penetrating through the skin. The bubbles then burst resulting in the deflation of the fat cell and release of fatty acids into the body. This method makes it much easier for fat to be processed and excreted by our lymphatic and urinary tract system. Is InstaSculpting Safe? InstaSculpting advocates have raved about the amazing results achieved by this body sculpting method. But is it safe? Unlike other body sculpting methods ultrasonic cavitation produces no pain and doesn’t even require significant recovery time after the session. Even the body tissue surrounding those pesky fat cells stays intact. Ultrasonic cavitation is even safe enough for people to use alongside certain treatments and surgeries with the approval of a physician. Long-lasting Results In order to achieve the best results patients should go through between 10 to 12 in-office treatments. However, even after only a few treatments results can already be seen. Up to 2 inches of fat is reduced in and around the targeted area by the 5th treatment.  Drinking lots of water and maintaining a fairly healthy diet will boost results as well. Consumption of water both before and after each ultrasonic cavitation treatment is vital to expel the fatty acids broken down during each session.

NormaTec: the Benefits of Compression

NormaTec compression therapy has combined thousands of years of scientific innovations to promote a new way of healing. The NormaTec compression suit yields several restoring benefits to the body. These benefits include the following: increased circulation, enhanced range of motion, faster and stronger recovery, and reduction of pain sensitivity. The History of Compression Therapy Building upon several thousand years of scientific and medical evolution compression therapy is in a new era. Forms of compression therapy can date back to 460-377 B.C. during the time of Hippocrates. This Greek physician is known as of the most outstanding figures in the history of medicine. Moreover, ancient civilizations such as Roman and Egypt used garments similar to modern day compression socks to bind and treat injuries. However, it wasn’t until the wake of WWII when compression therapy improved wound healing and promoted blood circulation, reduced poor circulation and decreased swelling. The New Age of NormaTec The NormaTec brand started as a way to alleviate excessive swelling from the medical condition known as lymphedema. Now its main focus is athletic recovery. NormaTec uses biomimicry to increase blood flow and muscle recovery. The three key techniques of NormaTec’s recovery system involve pulsing, distal release and gradients. Pulsing mimics the legs and arms’ muscle contractions resulting in enhanced fluid movement. Distal release holds the pressure in a specific zone so that each portion of the limb receives a specific rest time between compression stages. Gradients prevent fluid back-flow and utilizes hold pressures ensuring that fluids cannot flow in the wrong direction. Why Athletes Should Invest in NormaTec Compression So why should you invest in NormaTec Compression? The health benefits from the NormaTec compression suit are endless and provide immense healing systems for athletes. Increased blood flow is probably the most significant benefit yielding from this type of compression therapy. Athletes have to deal with muscle fatigue and exercise-induced inflammation on a daily basis; however, with an increase in blood flow the body is encouraged to deliver more oxygen and thus more nutrients into specific parts of the body. An enhanced circulatory output leads to faster recovery, pain relief and improved athletic performance. Our body’s circulatory system is also responsible for removing metabolic waste and toxins making healing easier for our bodies.  The Sport Science in NormaTec A study through the East Tennessee State University’s Department of Exercise and Sport Science sought to assess compression therapy, or peristaltic pulse dynamic compression (PPDC), in reducing short-term pressure-to-pain threshold (PPT) among athletes after extensive training. The study showed that the experimental group’s PPT threshold improved after compression treatment and stayed at that new increased point. However, the control group’s threshold did not change. After the compression therapy it was evident that muscle tenderness was reduced and PPT remained enhanced for several hours after the initial treatment and throughout the following day’s training. The experimenters agreed that PPDC and similar compression therapy methods were reliable in accelerating and enhancing recovery in athletes to relieve fatigue and muscle soreness.

Can Freezing Your Body Help You Age Better?

Does freezing your body help with aging? Some countries–particularly Scandinavian countries–believe that exposing your body to extreme cold can prevent age related illnesses. Cold therapies for the face such as jade rollers (or ice rollers) have become very popular lately to help with skin tightening. But what is the science behind the source? Can freezing your body make you feel better and look better too? Why Eskimos Have Less Wrinkles Eskimos (or the native Inuit People) have less wrinkles for two reasons: genetics and cold. Genetics cannot be changed, but the way that wrinkles appear can change, and cold is one way that happens. Cold temperatures preserve the skin’s ability to produce collagen. As we age our collagen production becomes less and less, resulting in the appearance of wrinkles and droopy skin. What aging research has found is that people who live in climates that have extreme cold seem to have less facial wrinkles. Some dermatologists have come to believe that the unintentional cold therapy of having cold air on the face reduces their appearance of wrinkles. Don’t Move to the Arctic Circle The good new is that you DON’T have to be move to Alaska or Sweden for cold therapy. Whole Body Cryotherapy and Cryotherapy Facials (aka “Frotox”) use cold therapy to chill the skin. Your skin temperature at rest is typically 91°F. After cryotherapy your skin temperature goes down to the Recovery Range™ of 45° to 60°F. This causes non-shivering thermogenesis that occurs on a cellular level. Your skin begins to try to generate heat, and in so doing burns calories. There is also the process of vasoconstriction wherein the blood vessels constrict to push the surface blood towards the body’s core. It does this during extreme cold to keep the blood warm. One benefit of vasoconstriction is that during cryotherapy the blood is enriched with oxygen and inflammation healing enzymes. Once the cryotherapy is over the oxygen rich and nutrient dense blood returns and vitalizes the skin. Cryotherapy for the Whole Body Wrinkles and collagen production are only some of the benefits of Whole Body Cryotherapy. Cryotherapy was invented to treat arthritis and was found to also benefit: Calorie burn – 500 to 800 calories per session Joint Pain Back Pain Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (workout soreness) Headaches Athletic Recovery Overuse Injury Prevention These results are experienced after a single 3 minute session. Using multiple sessions, such as three times per week, enhances the experience and amplifies the benefits.

What is a Mild Hyperbaric Chamber?

A hyperbaric chamber comes in two forms: hospital grade and “mild.” Hospitals use this to treat non-healing wounds, burns, and decompression sickness from scuba diving. Athletes use this therapy to recover from athletic injury. How does it work, and should you be doing it? Mild Hyperbaric Chamber Therapy For non-hospital use many athletes use this therapy in recovering from strenuous exercise. Muscles can suffer damage in training and need more oxygen for healing. Going into the chamber helps enrich the blood with oxygen that then travels throughout the entire body. It is pure drug-free healing for your body on a cellular level. Athletic Advantage Some athletes prefer to train in high-elevation cities–such as Big Bear or Denver–to help them perform better at lower elevation cities. But what about those who live near the beach at sea level? As a result athletes and teams have found that using the chamber before competitions at higher elevations will help them adjust and perform better. Additionally it keeps their inflammation down at manageable levels so that they can continue intense training routines. Is a Mild Hyperbaric Chamber safe? Yes! The Mayo Clinic states on their website that “Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is generally a safe procedure. ” Occasionally some people complain about the pressure in their ears (similar to an airplane-level pressure). However, this can be relieved by yawning or chewing motions. When Should I Do It? Mild hyperbaric therapy should be done on a regular basis if you are a high-performance athlete. Marathon runners and college athletes have repeated exposure to microscopic muscle tears that can add up to a serious injury. Fitness instructors need to perform at their top game to keep clients. People trying to exercise to lose weight are at risk of injury due to the extra weight they carry everyday. All of these people could benefit from this therapy on a three-times-per-week routine. Check with your Doctor As with starting any exercise or therapy program it is important that you check first with your doctor to determine if you are healthy enough for an exercise program and mild hyperbaric therapy.
